Born from the depths of meme culture and chaos-core UX, SKBD reimagines what self-custody looks like when you remove the banker suits, the corporate colors, and the user flows from 2014. We take the most powerful monetary network in history (Bitcoin + Lightning) and wrap it in total absurdity: QR codes, brainrot typography, toilet animations, and a UI made by and for the post-attention-span era.

Bitcoin wallets today feel corporate, boring, and built for your dad’s hardware ledger in 2014. They lean on traditional fintech aesthetics — white backgrounds, blue buttons, sterile typography — and ignore how Gen Z + Gen Alpha actually communicate: through memes, chaos edits, and “blink and you miss it” visual punchlines. Self-custody is powerful but intimidating; onboarding flows feel like compliance forms, and Lightning UX often looks like a bank app in disguise
Objective
Reframe Bitcoin self custody for the meme native generation by creating a mobile first experience that integrates Lightning without losing speed or simplicity. Design an absurd brutalist TikTok era interface that turns every tap into a dopamine hit and removes all unnecessary gatekeeping such as emails KYC or phone numbers. Make advanced Bitcoin technology feel approachable and playful so that using it feels as simple and fun as sending a GIF
